A Profile of Bruce
I am Assistant
Professor of Political Science and Director of Institutional Research
& Effectiveness at Webber
International University. Prior to joining
the faculty of Webber, I worked in the Career
Resource Center at UCF. Before that, I was the Learning Skills
Facilitator in the Upward
Bound program at Rollins
College. I also had an internship in Career
Services at Rollins College. I earned my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Master's degree in
Student Affairs at UCF and a Bachelor's degree in Christian Education
from the New Orleans
Seminary.
Since 1998,
I've been married to the wonderful Jennifer. She spent 7 years as a claims adjuster
for Allstate Insurance's National
Catastrophe Team, but has recently taken on a new career as an 8th grade English teacher. Since 2005, she has been the Advisor of WIU's student newspaper. She earned her Bachelor's with a double major
in Broadcast Communications and Religious Studies at the University
of Miami. She was once a DJ for the campus radio station and
was known as Hurricane Jenn.
We're members
of First
Baptist Church of Frostproof, where I occasionally teach a Bible
study. Of course, all my Webber students are welcome to attend,
but it won't get you extra credit. :-) I'm also the webmaster for
the church.
We both enjoy
traveling. Together, we've been to Arizona (Scottsdale, Sedona,
and the Grand Canyon), New York City, Raleigh, Dallas, St. Louis,
and Chicago. We've taken cruises to Alaska, the Bahamas, and Mexico.
I've also been to Romania and Jennifer's been to Serbia. In July
2005, Jennifer went to China. During my travels, I have developed
an interest in architecture, and I am collecting photographs of
various designs. You can see some of my photographs (of architecture
and more) on my web album.
